Unfortunately it's not that easy. I'm pretty sure each user would have to change the time zone on their computer to make the calendar even come up. That's the way it was for me when I tried it just now.aebrown wrote:But we're talking about a few stake administrator making the effort to make manual changes to the time zone for locations, versus no members in Argentina being able to use the Calendar system at all.
Calendar 2.0 is not working in Argentina

My concern is scheduling. If you place an event on the calendar for April, what time is it really scheduled for? Can you count on it being right after March 11?
It's probably safe to try though February 2012, but the potential for confusions beyond that seem very high. If it was my stake, I'd first be doing some testing. Based on that, we'd probably be having a discussion on wither or not to use the calendar at all or sticking to off-line methods until it's fixed. It depends on how seriously disruptive having things be off an hour would be.
I suppose the argument can be made that it's more important to have the date and rough time-of-day be right and that people would understand that that "6PM" meeting was really supposed to be at 7PM (or however it works out).

Yes, that's right. I was focused on the time zone of the location, not the time zone of the computer. So my workaround suggestion is indeed impractical from a user perspective (although it would have worked from a server perspective), and thus is a nonstarter.mfmohlma wrote:Unfortunately it's not that easy. Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.
