Out of unit calling.

Post by cschaue »

I have an out of unit calling. Why can't I look at the youth and ministering assignments, etc., of members in my home ward?

I see that my out of unit branch is considered my home ward, but why couldn't our actual home ward where we live still be considered home also?

There's a few things to consider:

First, there may be a drop down setting that determines what role you are using to access the information.

Note, your out of unit calling will not grant any special access to the information in your home ward. If you were in a leadership capacity in your home ward, you likely lost a lot of access when you were released from that position and now are just a "regular member" of that ward. For example, unless you also hold a leadership position in your home ward, I would not expect you to have any LCR access for the home ward.

Lastly, it's possible that instead of leaving your membership record in the home ward, it's been moved to your out of unit assignment. You'd still have some access as a member of the same stake, but you wouldn't be able to see the youth in Member Tools, or the on-line directory.

I responded before I saw this follow up. It's likely someone moved your membership record rather than recording it as an out of unit calling.

I can see the youth listed for each family in the ward I live in unlike other wards in the stake, but cannot see their birthday. I could see that without any leadership calling before.

Only members in specific callings can see birthdays of members outside of their own family.
