Access for Service Missionaries
I am a counselor in the Bishopric of the River Parkway Ward in Ogden (we have a brand new clerk). We have many Service Missionary couples in our ward serving in a variety of positions. We have been successfully creating "ghost records" for them (because their records remain in their original ward) for many years so that they can have access to our membership information. Our problem right now is that we have a fairly new Service Missionary by the name of Bryan Redd who is serving as our Executive Secretary. He claims that his home Stake has done something to mess up his access. When he logs into lds.org he sees information for the River Parkway Ward, but when he logs into LDSTools he still sees his home ward rather than the ward he is serving in. Apparently his home Stake/Ward had him delete his profile and start over to no avail. After we set him apart as the new Executive Secretary yesterday we had him sync LDSTools on his phone but he still sees his home ward. Do you have any suggestions as to how we may correct this. He is the only one of our missionaries with this problem.

Re: Access for Service Missionaries
It can take up to 24 hours for new permissions to become effective.bcawley wrote:After we set him apart as the new Executive Secretary yesterday we had him sync LDSTools on his phone but he still sees his home ward.

It is not the permissions that we are concerned about... it is the discrepancy in which ward he sees when logging into lds.org -vs- ldstools. If I understand it correctly when selecting sync in ldstools it syncs up your profile from lds.org with ldstools. He is seeing two different wards... his home ward in ldstools and our ward in lds.org

If it hasn't been 24 hours, I'd wait for the computers to sync up and see what happens. I'm pretty sure that lds.org and LDS Tools are handled by different systems, even if they both reference the same database.
