"My Account" menu changed to icons

I don't know if I got selected to test a variant, or if this is the new normal, but today the "My Account" menu that was below the language selector has now turned into app and account icons next to the search icon. I think the worst thing about the change is that it no longer shows my name in the header, so I don't know what the page thinks about my login status.

Some time ago I ran into those changes. While it functions, it is different enough to require some thought as to what is missing or just moved. I haven't seen that page setup since pre-COVID.

Today it's back to the way it used to be. I must have been a guinea pig yesterday.

At least for me, the temporary reversion to the old way only lasted a day. It's been back to the icons for a few days now. The funny thing is that the old way briefly appears when the page loads and then it jumps to the new experience.

I for one am annoyed that they removed FIR from the menu, as well as from LCR. I have to click the All Tools link, and search for FIR.

Agree. Same for LUFAS. Now it requires multiple steps to launch either of those apps. In the past, they were both on the drop-down menu and easy to find.

I set bookmarks directly to those areas in my browser. It saves a couple of clicks regularly. I did it early on, before either FIR or LUFAS were even in the main menu system.

We often advise folks on this forum to stop using old bookmarks. I guess we do until they change.

Indeed, we do. And the first time one of my bookmarks does not work, I change it. [grin]
But you are correct. It probably is better to use the regular menu system. And if someone is not, there is no basis to complain when something does not work.

I'm sad they did that, too, but it doesn't impact me at the moment. I used to be able to submit them as an assistant ward clerk, but I can't do it as an assistant stake technology specialist...only the STS can submit FIRs. The crazy thing is that as an ASTS I know and see a lot of things in the buildings, but can't submit them. Now I have to email people and try to get them to submit FIRs. And the FM group keeps telling me to submit FIRs about problems, but I can't. Some things still aren't fixed a year later because I can't get people to submit FIRs.
