Wrong Last Name in Tools

One of our members shows up in tools directory under the wrong last name. For example :

Bill Jones and his wife Sally look like this in the Tools Directory :

Smith
Jones, Bill
Jones, Sally

They show up alphabetically under S. What gives and how can I correct this?

I have re-sync'd (so have the members). I have checked their records as well to ensure correct names.

Check the Household name. I'll bet it's "Smith".
