Suggestions on a Pad/Reader with E-Scriptures

I am considering an Ipad. I will use it mainly for scriptures, and ebooks, photos, and some wifi connectivity for surfing. It might be used to access lds.org in PEC etc if functional enough ( I have a notebook pc). I do not have a data plan so wifi connectivity is all I think I want.

Any suggestions on storage size or other brands? I mostly want to make sure the scripture accessibility is functional and fast enough to keep up with references in Sunday School class (as fast as paper scriptures).
